Introduction:

Sacred, a 2004 action role-playing game developed by the German company Ascaron and published by Take 2 Interactive, is set in the enchanting realm of Ancaria. In this realm, various races like dark elves, vampiresses, and dwarves each have their own unique missions. The game was further enriched by two expansion packs released in 2004 and 2005. Notably, in 2008, Linux Game Publishing announced their plans to port the game to the Linux operating system.

Players owning a horse can equip it with different saddles that boost speed, defense, and damage. Only one horse can be owned at a time, and it's vulnerable to damage and can be killed.

Items are categorized by color, representing different quality tiers (white, blue, yellow, brown, green). Set items, dropped by monsters, gain power when collected together, similar to Diablo II. Unique items, however, can be superior to set items individually.

Certain items can be imbued with improved attributes. Items with slots can be imbued by a blacksmith using jewelry, runes, or other techniques. However, removing a rune or jewelry sacrifices other slotted items. Runes and jewelry are class-specific but can enhance an item's magical properties.

Synopsis:

The game revolves around the pursuit of Caesarian's elements to defeat the unleashed Sakkara demon, with each hero's path converging to this final quest.

After defeating traitor Baron DeMordre and reclaiming the throne, the hero confronts and defeats the Sakkara demon. Yet, the treacherous necromancer Shaddar appears, kidnapping Baroness Vilyia. The hero embarks on a quest to rescue Vilyia and vanquish Shaddar within his castle, culminating in an epic showdown.
